We offer a Professional Annual treatment programme to keep your lawn looking great all year round
Spring treatment
Combination fertiliser treatment that ensures strong root establishment and feeds the first flush of foliar growth to help the grass recover from its period of winter dormancy.
Early Summer Treatment
This provides the essential nutrients that ensure new grass growth remains strong and vibrant. Optimising root zone growth with the correct ratio of fertilisers builds resilience and ensures colour remains strong.
Late Summer Treatment
Continuing to support growth throughout the season, reduce risk of scorching (as stronger roots allow the grass to draw water more effectively) and maintain vibrancy.
Autumn Treatment
Contains chemicals that control moss growth, as the cooler and damper conditions experienced at this time of the year favour moss growth. The final feed given ensures sufficient nutrients are available to the rootzone to enable it to retain colour and strong growth until declining temperature cause dormancy.
Winter Treatment
Controls the problematic development of moss, helping to reduce thatch that will hamper new grass growth once temperatures rise again in early Spring.
How it works
Once you contact us by either email or phone, we arrange a convenient time to visit your property to carry out a full lawn assessment. The lawn area is calculated to provide a single all inclusive price for our seasonal treatment program. This is delivered as 5 combination treatments across a full year. We will assess the current condition of the lawn on this initial visit and tailor a program to improve and enhance the lawn. This involves the use of specialist fertiliser blends and herbicide applications, alongside Liquid Iron application through the autumn and winter months to supress moss growth. We will also advise if mechanical treatments are necessary, such as aeration and scarification which are at a separate cost to the seasonal treatment program.
Our range of services at Merlin lawn Care
Aeration
Improves soil and root structure by reducing compaction to allow surface drainage and increase biological activity (by allowing air to the root zone) which encourages healthy soil structure. All plugs are removed by Merlin after removal.
Scarification
Removes surface and sub surface dead grass, roots and moss that accumulate over time. This improves water penetration to the root zone encouraging fresh and resilient grass growth, as well as improved air flow and light penetration. All waste is removed by Merlin.
Biological controls
Specialist Nematodes can be applied to prevent Insect damage such as the Chafer grub that feeds on the roots of the grass.
Fungicidal Treatments
Fungicides can be applied that prevent Red Thread, a fungal disease of grass that causes a distinct pink tinge and often causes irregular damage that eventually bleaches leaving small damaged patches.
Soft Landscaping
We offer garden design, plant supply and installation to create structured spaces. This can be integrated with Irrigation systems and Edging solutions to complete the perfect, low maintenance garden. Top dressing
We add a thin layer of Rootzone compost mix, a light screened loam mix that is both nutrient rich yet free draining, over the lawn surface. We spread evenly and gently rake over. Used alongside overseeding to improve soil structure, encourage root growth, and level the turf

Overseeding
Sowing grass seed onto existing turf to fill bare or thin areas. After aeration or scarification, we apply seed across the whole lawn to ensure consistency of colour and would recommend following seed application with top dressing to provide bird protection and create a better seed bed. This must be then consistently moist for successful germination

Fertilisation
Supplying nutrients needed for healthy grass growth. We apply seasonally tailored feeds—spring for green-up, autumn to strengthen root systems. May be blended with moss or weed control as necessary
Lawn renovation
Comprehensive recovery for neglect, damage, or poor turf. Involves scarification, aeration, overseeding, top dressing, and ongoing seasonal care to rebuild healthy grass coverage
Waste disposal
We take our rubbish away with us! Merlin provide a full waste disposal service after working on your lawn so there is nothing extra for the customer to arrange.
